Hit a down payment milestone that felt impossible - $20k in 14 months

I saved up $20k for a down payment in 14 months working roofing jobs. Never thought I'd get there since I started with nothing and rent eats half my paycheck. Turns out picking up weekend side work and not eating out at all made a huge difference. Anyone else hit a number that surprised them? How long did it take you to get there?

Right? Just a casual 140 degree heat index for two months straight. Totally worth it for that sweet, sweet concrete slab though.
