Can we talk about the 9 days I spent chasing a "leak" that was just my AC drip pan
When we bought our place in Mesa last spring, I found a wet spot on the garage ceiling and spent 9 days cutting drywall, checking pipes, and calling two plumbers who both charged me $85 to say they had no idea. It turned out the AC drain pan upstairs had a cracked fitting dripping right onto a joist, and I only figured it out after a guy on a ladder at Home Depot heard my story and laughed at me. How do you tell the difference between a plumbing problem and an HVAC problem before you start swinging a hammer?
