A home inspection in Tacoma missed a major sewer line issue
I was at the final walkthrough for a house I wanted to buy six months ago. The inspector ran all the faucets and said the drains were fine. After we moved in, the basement flooded during the first big rain. A plumber found a broken clay pipe from the 1950s that was completely collapsed. The repair quote came to $12,000. Has anyone else had a sewer scope catch something a regular inspection missed?

Man, did you ever get a sewer scope done separately?

Yeah, we paid for one last year, cost about 300 bucks. Honestly, johnfoster, watching that camera feed felt like a bad trip into my own pipes. The guy found a root the size of my arm just hanging out in there.
