Update: I tracked my dad's 1987 Crock-Pot for 2 years and it beat my $180 Instant Pot on 41 out of 50 meals
Everyone in this group says buy once cry once on kitchen gear, but last Christmas I pulled my dad's old Crock-Pot out of his garage in Akron and decided to actually test it. I made 50 meals, 25 in each, and the $180 multi-cooker won on speed but the cheap 1987 pot won on roasts, stews, and anything that needed to sit for 8 hours while I slept. The old one has one knob and it's still going after 37 years, while my fancy one has a cracked lid seal and a screen that flickers. So what's the oldest cheap kitchen tool that's still beating your newer gear?
