My cast iron pan survived a house fire, but not my dishwasher
After a small kitchen fire last month in Columbus, I found my grandma's 40-year-old cast iron skillet under a pile of ash. It cleaned up fine with oil and elbow grease, but my wife ran it through the dishwasher twice and it rusted so bad I had to strip it completely. Anyone else have a family heirloom piece that took worse damage from modern habits than from actual disasters?
