I finally switched from leather work boots to synthetic ones after a guy at the Red Wing store in Boise gave me a weird look
Last spring I brought my 4 year old leather boots into the shop in Boise for a resole and the guy behind the counter said 'you know these weigh almost 3 pounds each, right?' I had never thought about it, I just assumed heavy meant durable. I asked around and half the folks I know swear leather is the only thing worth buying for life, while the other half say modern synthetics last just as long and save your knees. I ended up grabbing a pair of synthetic boots for $160 and 6 months in my feet feel way better but I keep wondering if I gave up too early on leather. Curious if anyone here has run both for 5 plus years and which one actually held up longer for you.

Heavy boots break your body down slow, and knees don't grow back once they're shot.
