Hot take: my $45 dollar store can opener died in 3 weeks, the $18 OXO is on year 6
I thought I was being smart saving cash and it just meant buying the same junk 4 times, so what cheap thing did you swap for the real version and never look back on?

My mom had a $6 can opener from IKEA that lasted 12 years. Read somewhere that the cheap ones use soft metal gears and they just strip out. Bought a $20 one after my third dead opener and it's still going.
