Vent: My new $700 band saw blade snapped on the third hog
I was breaking down a side of beef yesterday morning, everything was going smooth until the blade just popped. It was a brand new 1.25 inch carbon steel blade I got for around seven hundred bucks. The supplier said it could handle heavy work, but it gave out on a rib section. Now I'm stuck waiting on a replacement and had to finish the job the hard way. Has anyone else had a problem with this brand or have a better one they trust for big animals?
Flew clear across the room" sounds like a story that gets bigger each time. A chunk of pork shoulder is what, a few pounds? That's messy, but not exactly dangerous. Was anyone actually hurt, or did it just make a mess on the floor?
