Old timer at the shop told me to season my cutting boards with mineral oil and beeswax

Did he give you a ratio to mix the two together, or does he just slap mineral oil on and then rub beeswax on top? That's the part that always trips me up when I try making my own board butter. I've seen recipes online calling for 4 parts oil to 1 part wax, but then other people swear by a 3 to 1 mix. Which one did he say works best for keeping the wood from drying out too fast?
