The 10 minute fix that made me face my own charging laziness

My buddy from Columbus told me my phone was slow to charge because I kept using a frayed cable I'd taped up three times. He sat me down and showed how the bent connector was making a poor contact, measured with a USB meter reading only 1.2 amps instead of 3. I swapped in a fresh braided one and it hit full speed instantly, so now I toss any cable with a wiggle instead of nursing it along. Anyone else been ignoring the obvious red flags on their everyday charger?

wait, you actually measured it? like with a meter and everything? that's some next level detective work just to prove your own cable was the problem. i've got a pile of dead chargers in a drawer that probably would've told me the same story if i'd bothered to check instead of blaming my phone.
