One engineer told me to stop hating the cable, hate the port. He was right

I kept blaming cheap USB-C cables for my phone not fast charging, but after 3 chargers died in a row, a guy at a repair shop in Austin pointed out the lint and corrosion in my port. Cleaned it with a toothpick and isopropyl alcohol, now every cable works fine. Anyone else ever realize the port was the culprit the whole time?

Huh, I get your point but I have to disagree a little. In my experience, bad cables really are a thing, like the cheap ones that just stop working after a month. The port can definitely be the problem, but I've also had cables where the connector itself was loose and wiggly, and no amount of port cleaning fixed that. Maybe we both hit different issues, but I'd say it's usually a mix of both.
