My power bank's USB-C port died after 4 days, the fix was obvious but I missed it

Bought a slim 10,000mAh bank for a trip to Austin and the port stopped holding any cable on day 4, figured the whole unit was toast. Turned out a tiny piece of lint from my backpack pocket was jammed in there, and a wooden toothpick got it out in 30 seconds. Anyone else spent a whole weekend ordering a replacement before checking the obvious stuff first?

Ever tried using a can of compressed air on your phone ports before reaching for a toothpick? I keep one in my desk drawer now, blasts out pocket fuzz and dust way faster than any poking around. My buddy once bricked a laptop speaker jack with a paperclip because he went full surgeon mode instead of just blowing into it first. Cheap trick, saves you from a whole fake Amazon panic spiral.

Three times I've killed a phone screen with a toothpick, and every time it was me trying to be gentle. The last one I swear I just looked at the charging port wrong and the screen went black. So yeah, compressed air is the smart move. I keep a can in my truck now, but I also keep a backup can in the house because I lose stuff. My wife laughs at me for it, but I've saved two headphone jacks and one port since. Still, I bet I'll find a way to mess up with the air can too, probably by spraying it upside down and freezing my finger.
