My phone charger caught fire in a Waffle House booth

Last Tuesday in Nashville, my cheap car charger sparked and started smoking right as my hash browns arrived. I dumped my sweet tea on it to kill the flames, which ruined my breakfast but saved the booth. Anyone else had a charger go up in a public spot?

Damn, that's wild! I had a similar thing happen at a gas station once, my phone was plugged into one of those sketchy USB ports by the pump and it started getting super hot. I yanked it out real quick before it could cook anything else. Best move I ever made was just buying a few cheap fire extinguisher wipes and keeping them in my car, they're tiny and fit in the glove box. Also, I learned to never use those cheap gas station chargers, they're always the ones that fail. Glad you saved the booth though, that could've been a lot worse lol.
