Tried to fix a leaky sink in my Tucson rental and now the cabinet floor is soaked
Last Saturday I noticed a drip under the bathroom sink so I figured I'd just tighten the p trap by hand and be done with it. Well I cranked it too hard and cracked the plastic nut, and when I turned the water back on it sprayed everywhere for a good 5 seconds before I got it shut off. I grabbed every towel in the hall closet and stuffed them under there, then sat on the floor googling plumber prices while my roommate just stared at me. Ended up paying a guy $180 on Sunday to replace the whole trap and he said I'm lucky I didn't flood the downstairs neighbor. Has anyone else made a small leak way worse trying to DIY it, or am I the only one who does this?
