Question about the moment I realized I was caulking the tub totally wrong for years
Two weeks ago I was redoing the caulk around my tub in Cleveland because it kept peeling after just 3 months every single time. I finally watched a real plumber do it on a video and saw him fill the tub with water first before laying the bead. That was the thing I never did in 6 years of fighting this same mess. I had been caulking a dry tub every time, so the second someone stood in it the gap flexed and ripped the seal. I sat there on the edge of the tub feeling like a total idiot for all those wasted Saturdays. Has anyone else found out they were doing a basic fix wrong the whole time, and what finally tipped you off?
