I finally quit patching drywall with spackle after the hallway hole turned into a crater
Last month I tried to fill a doorknob hole in my hallway with that pink spackle stuff. Went to bed, woke up, and the whole patch had shrunk and cracked into a spiderweb. So I watched a guy at the hardware store on 8th do it the right way, he cut a square of drywall, screwed in a backer strip, and mudded the seams. Took him 20 minutes and the wall looks flat now. Why does nobody tell you spackle alone is a scam for anything bigger than a nail hole?
