I finally fixed my leaky sink after my uncle's 30 second advice beat 3 hours of YouTube
My kitchen sink in Cleveland was dripping for about two weeks and I had watched maybe six videos on replacing the cartridge, bought a $22 puller tool, and still had water running down the cabinet. My uncle stopped by to drop off some tomatoes and heard the drip, walked over, and asked if I had checked the aerator first. I told him no, that seemed too simple, and he just shrugged and said the drip was coming from the spout tip, not the base, so why was I messing with the cartridge at all. He unscrewed it with his fingers in about ten seconds, showed me the cracked rubber washer inside, and we had a new one in for 89 cents from the hardware store on Lorain. Three hours of videos and one $22 tool that I never even needed, all because I assumed the hard fix was the real fix. Has anyone else had a relative solve in half a minute what you spent a whole Saturday on?
