When his upstairs toilet started leaking into the kitchen ceiling last month, he skipped the $200 plumber quote and just stacked two wax rings and a rubber gasket from Ace, and I told him he was begging for a flood. Three days later my own flange cracked at the closet bend, water everywhere, and his rig is still holding dry while I was mopping at 11pm on a Tuesday. So is the stacked wax ring thing actually legit, or did we both just get lucky?
