Our upload speed went from 3 Mbps to 40 and it changed how my whole shop works
Six months ago my print shop in Boise was stuck on a cable line that promised 100 down but gave us 3 up on a good day, and I just accepted it as normal. Sending a 2 GB file to a client meant I hit send and went to lunch, that is how slow it was. Then our rep talked us into a fiber line with 40 up for about $90 more a month, and I figured it was a waste of money. The change was instant. Now my two designers push files to the cloud all day and nobody complains about the network crawling. The part that really got me was the phones. Voice calls over the old line used to drop every other call, and after the switch we went a whole 60 days with zero complaints. I was blaming the phone system the whole time when it was really the upload choking. If you run a shop with more than two people, go look at your up speed right now and tell me it isn't the thing holding you back.
