Chose fiber over cable at my print shop in Tucson and the upload speed is the part nobody warns you about
When we moved the shop to a bigger space in Tucson last March, I had to pick between the cable plan we already had and a fiber line the new landlord had run into the building. Cable was $89 a month, fiber was $130, so I almost stayed put. What pushed me was our backup job, since we were pushing 4GB of print files to a client server in Phoenix each night and it took close to 40 minutes over cable. Now the same upload finishes in about 6 minutes, and my designer can send proofs while she's still on the phone with the customer. The catch is the install took 3 weeks and two guys had to come back because the first tech ran the line to the wrong unit. If you're on the fence, look at your upload needs before the download number. Anyone here switched to fiber and found the upload speed mattered more than they expected?
