Visited a stationery shop in Portland and noticed everyone using grid notebooks instead of dotted

I popped into Oblation Papers on Northwest 23rd last weekend and saw maybe 10 people flipping through grid journals while nobody touched the dotted ones. I've always used dots for my bullet journal layouts, but now I'm wondering if grids are actually easier for drawing boxes and tracking spreads. Has anyone else made the switch and found it better for weekly layouts?

Grids feel way too busy for me actually. Dots let my eye relax more.

My buddy Jake bought a dot grid notebook last year and it totally messed with his head at first. He kept trying to draw straight lines but the dots made him second-guess every angle. After a week he said it was like his brain finally figured out the pattern and now he swears by them. Your comment about your eye relaxing makes total sense to me now.
