Tried a minimalist 3-pen setup for a month and it drove me crazy

I swapped my 12-pen case for just a black, red, and blue pen to simplify my bullet journal. Ended up missing my gray midliner so badly that I abandoned the whole system after 3 weeks. Has anyone else had a minimalist pen kit actually backfire?

Wait, do you think it's more about the physical midliner or the mental comfort of having backup? Like I get missing the backup if you're doing long hauls or sketchy roads where one blowout could leave you stranded for hours. But the midliner itself, man that thing was heavy as hell and killed your payload capacity even when empty. My buddy swapped his out for a portable compressor and patch kit, swears he's never looked back.
