Switched from a lined notebook to dot grid and my layouts finally fit on one page

I started my first bujo in a $6 lined composition book from Target and kept running out of room because the lines forced my boxes to be weird sizes. Picked up a dot grid Leuchtturm two rounds ago and my whole monthly spread goes on one page now instead of spilling onto two. The dots keep me from drawing crooked columns, which sounds dumb but it's true. What paper do you all actually stick with, or am I late to this?
