Stopped using washi tape borders and my spreads actually got faster

I used to spend like 20 minutes putting washi tape borders on my weekly log every Sunday. Then last month I realized the tape was peeling off the page by Thursday and smudging my pen marks. I switched to just using a ruler and a fine liner for a simple straight line instead. Now my weekly spread takes me 5 minutes flat and I focus more on what I'm tracking rather than how it looks. Anyone else ditch the decorative stuff and find their journaling got more useful?

Nah, the decoration is the whole POINT for me though.

Totally agree with you here. I spent months decorating my bullet journal with colored headers and doodles in the margins, then realized I was avoiding actually writing in it because I didn't want to mess up the art. Now I just use a simple black pen and a ruler, maybe a highlighter for priority items, and my whole setup takes under ten minutes. It's amazing how much faster and more useful the journal becomes when you stop treating it like a scrapbook project.
