Stopped by a paper store and now I'm questioning my whole setup

Last weekend I wandered into a little stationery shop in Portland and saw a whole wall of fancy dotted notebooks, some priced at $30 or more. It got me thinking about the debate between using a cheap notebook and just making it work versus spending more on something that feels nice to write in. I've been in the cheap camp for years, but that store display made me wonder, does the quality of the paper actually change your habit, or is it all just about showing up each day? Anyone else hit a point where they switched sides?

And that's exactly how I ended up with a $28 notebook sitting in my drawer that I'm almost scared to ruin. I was the same way, cheap spiral notebooks from the drugstore for years, and honestly they worked fine. But one birthday my sister got me a nice one and I have to admit, the paper does make a difference. The ink doesn't bleed through, the pages lie flat, and it just feels better to open it up each morning. I don't write more often because of it, but I do savor the writing more when I do. Now I'm stuck in the middle, I still buy the cheap ones for work stuff, but I keep one nice one for my own thoughts.
