PSA: I dropped $40 on a 'bullet journal starter kit' and it almost made me quit
I saw this fancy kit online with a dot grid notebook, a set of stencils, and a bunch of mildliner pens. It looked perfect for a beginner like me. The problem was, it came with all these complex layout ideas that felt more like an art project than a planning tool. I spent hours trying to make my weekly spread look just like the pictures, getting stressed over straight lines and color coding. I felt like I was failing because my pages didn't look 'instagram ready'. After about three weeks of this, I realized I wasn't using my journal to get things done, I was just decorating it. I almost gave up on the whole system. Has anyone else felt pressured by those pre-made kits to make things too pretty and lost the actual point?

Was that a planner or a part-time art school project?
