My 11 year old niece said my habit tracker looked like a chore chart for sad adults
I was showing my sister my new spread at her place in Sacramento a couple weeks ago, and my niece wandered over and just stared at it for a minute. She pointed at my habit tracker with all the little squares and said it looked like a chore chart for sad adults, then walked off to play Minecraft. I laughed it off but then I couldn't stop thinking about it, because she was kind of right. I had 14 habits on there. Reading, water, stretching, no phone in bed, journaling about journaling basically. I was spending more time filling in boxes than actually doing the stuff in them, and most nights I'd feel bad about the empty squares instead of good about the filled ones. So I cut it down to three things and left the rest of the page blank, and weirdly I've kept up with all three for 12 days straight now. The blank space bugs me less than the red Xs did. Has anyone else stripped their tracker way down and actually stuck with it, or do you miss the big grid after a while?
