I thought those little dot grid stickers were a waste of money until a plane ride changed my mind

Back in March I was flying to see my sister in Phoenix and I grabbed a pack of dot grid stickers at the airport gift shop just to have something to do. I had always figured they were pointless, since the whole reason I like dot grid notebooks is that the dots are already printed. But somewhere over New Mexico I started laying a strip of them down the side of the page to make a skinny margin column, and it just clicked. Now I use them for habit trackers, quick index tabs, and covering up mistakes I do not feel like crossing out. A pack of 300 cost me $6 and I have gone through maybe 40 in four months. The part I did not expect was how much neater my monthly spread looks with a clean column that I can peel off and redo when plans change. Does anyone else use these things on top of an existing grid, or am I late to something obvious?
