Friend told me my weekly spread was way too cluttered

They said my layout had too many sections and it was stressing them out just looking at it. I cut down to just 3 boxes per day with a tiny habit tracker at the bottom and suddenly I'm actually using the thing. Anyone else had to simplify after someone called you out on it?

Oh boy, my first bullet journal looked like a schematic for a spaceship! I feel your pain, I had to trim mine down to "must do" and "maybe do" before it stopped feeling like a chore.

3 pages in and I already gave up on color coding. Keep it simple, @sagey69, that's the only way it sticks. Overcomplicating it just makes you hate your own to-do list.

Oh man, I did the exact same thing actually. My first try had separate boxes for morning, afternoon, evening, plus a meal tracker, water tracker, and like five different categories of tasks. A friend just looked at it and said "this looks like homework." So I switched to one main box per day with a tiny dot grid for any extra notes, and a single row of habit dots at the bottom. Now it actually takes me 2 minutes to set up each day instead of 20, and I don't dread looking at it.
