Found out bullet journaling started as a system for a guy with ADHD

I was reading an old interview with Ryder Carroll, the creator, and he said he developed the method to manage his own attention deficit. It was never meant to be about fancy pens or perfect spreads, just a simple way to focus. Does knowing the original intent change how you set up your own journal?

That "simple way to focus" idea makes me want to rip out half the pages I've overcomplicated.

wait so which part exactly do you want to rip out? is it the whole "just do this one thing" headspace or is it more about how you wrote it down? because i feel like the urge to simplify something you already overcomplicated is actually the most honest reaction you can have. half the time i end up staring at my own notes like "why did i write a whole novel when i couldve just said 'stop opening 14 tabs at once'". you might be closer to the actual answer than you think, you just gotta burn the useless parts. whats the one thing in those pages that made you want to grab the scissors first?

Honestly, that urge to tear pages out is the best sign you're getting somewhere.
