Appreciation post: my worst week ever forced me to actually use my journal
Last month I had five straight days where everything fell apart. My car overheated on I-25 near Denver, my tenant's water heater burst on a Tuesday night, and I lost my wallet with my library card and bus pass. I sat down Sunday night and just dumped every terrible detail into my weekly spread, no colors, no washi tape, just messy handwriting. That ended up being the only thing that kept me from spiraling, because seeing it all in one place made it feel manageable instead of endless. I used to think journaling was for pretty trackers and goals, but that ugly, frantic week proved it works best as a dumpster. So now I keep a section called "garbage days" where I only write when stuff stinks. Does anyone else use their journal as a complaint log instead of a planner, or am I the only one who finds that more useful than habit grids?
