A coworker's comment about my rapid logging changed my whole setup
I used to do these big fancy monthly spreads with color coding and washi tape everywhere. Took me two hours every first of the month to set up. Then my coworker Dave glanced over my shoulder and said, "That's a lot of work for a list you'll ignore by Thursday." He wasn't wrong. I spent more time decorating than actually writing stuff down. So I stripped it all back to just a simple index, a daily log, and a future log on one page. Now my setup takes maybe 15 minutes and I actually use it every single day at my desk in Austin. Has anyone else had to kill their pretty spreads to make the system actually function, or am I the only one on Team Functional and Ugly?
