Spent 3 weekends building my own desk from reclaimed oak, and my brother in law called it a 'waste of a Saturday'
We were at his place in Tucson for a cookout and he saw the photos on my phone, then told me I could have just ordered the same thing from a store for $200 and been done in an hour. What he does not get is that the point was the 40 hours of planing and joining, and knowing every screw in that thing is mine. Do you all get this reaction too, or is it just my family that thinks building your own stuff is a waste of time?
