Bought a $60 'custom' wiring harness kit for my sim rig, every single wire was the wrong length
I wanted clean cable runs under my desk so I grabbed a pre-cut kit instead of just measuring and cutting my own wires. Two hours of fighting later, every single lead was either 3 inches too short or dangling in a loop, and I ended up at the hardware store at 9pm buying spools anyway. If you have a meter and a crimper, just do it yourself from scratch, the kits are a trap. Has anyone found a harness brand that actually fits a standard 8020 frame, or is custom cutting the only real option?
Reminds me of when I built a guitar pedal board with pre made patch cables. Same deal, all of them either too long and coiled up or too short to reach the next pedal. Ended up learning to solder just so I could stop throwing money at cables that never worked right. Once you get a decent iron and some practice the custom length thing is honestly not bad, a lot of trial and error at first though.
