TIL a guy at Micro Center told me one thing about my front fan setup and it fixed my temps
Last weekend I drove to the Micro Center in Sharonville to grab a cheap 120mm fan because my GPU was hitting 83C in games. While I was at the counter, an employee asked what case I had and I told him my setup, three fans in front pushing air in and one in back pulling out. He said my top front fan was actually stealing air from the CPU cooler and told me to move it up top as an exhaust instead. I tried it that night and my CPU dropped 6 degrees and the GPU stayed at 77C under the same load. I had run that same fan layout for close to two years and never once thought about it. Now I am wondering if my cable routing behind the tray is messing with airflow too, since it is pretty bunched up near the bottom intake. Anyone here tested fan placement with a cheap thermometer or just gone by feel?
