Spent $40 on a magnetic screw tray and it saved me 3 hours of digging through carpet
My son kicked the table and every screw from his motherboard tray went flying, but that little tray caught all 12 of them before they hit the floor - anyone else swear by these things or am I just lucky?

Man, my buddy dropped a tire valve stem in gravel and we never found it. That tray woulda saved his weekend.

Wait, does nobody else think about how this thing works when you drop a screw on the carpet vs a hard floor? I dropped a tiny m.2 screw on my tile floor last week and that sucker bounced and rolled under my desk like 3 feet away. Carpet just eats them. So honestly, you might have been better off without the tray if you have hard floors because it keeps everything in one spot. But on carpet, yeah, those little bugers just disappear. I bet the real magic isnt the magnet but the fact that it keeps them from rolling away. Makes me wonder if a regular metal tray would work just as good for half the price.
