Spent 2 hours hiding cables behind my mobo tray, then realized the back panel never comes off anyway
I built my first custom loop about 5 months ago in a Fractal North and I went absolutely nuts on the back side cable routing. Zip ties every inch, cables combed flat, velcro straps cut to exact length, the whole deal. Then I was showing a buddy my build last weekend and he popped the back panel off to look and just shrugged, because nobody ever sees that side once the case is closed up on your desk. Here is the thing though, I still do it every single time, and I think the real reason is it makes the front side easier to maintain when you swap a GPU or add a drive. If the back is a rat nest, pulling one cable tugs five others loose and you are back to square one. I timed it on my last rebuild, clean back panel saved me about 40 minutes when I swapped the PSU. So my question is, do you all actually tidy the hidden side or just stuff it all behind the tray and forget it?
