Pro tip: skip the $18 magnetic screw cup and use a muffin tin instead
I built my first rig two years ago and blew $18 on one of those magnetic screw trays, then somehow still lost two standoffs under my desk. Last weekend I was helping a buddy assemble his setup in his garage in Columbus and he pulled out a plain 12 cup muffin tin. He dropped all the odd screws in one cup, standoffs in another, and the fan screws in a third. We finished the whole build in about 90 minutes with zero dropped parts and zero crawling around on the floor. The magnets on my fancy tray also grabbed a loose M.2 screw I did not want them to. Has anyone else found cheap kitchen stuff that works better than actual PC tools?
