Just realized my last 3 builds all had the same mistake in them
Last week I was tearing down my old rig from 3 years ago to reuse the case, and I finally spotted it. Every single time, I'd routed the front panel audio cable right over the GPU backplate, which explains the weird coil whine I kept blaming on the card. It took me about 20 minutes with a zip tie and a reroute through the bottom channel to fix it, and now the noise is gone completely. Has anyone else found a dumb repeat mistake like that after years of building, or is it just me being stubborn?

Man, that's how it always goes, the dumbest stuff hides in plain sight.
