I got roasted for my fan placement about two years back
I had this build where I put three intake fans on the front and one exhaust on the back, thought I was being smart. A guy on a forum told me I was basically just pushing hot air around and my GPU was choking on its own heat. He suggested flipping the top rear to intake and balancing the pressure a bit more. I changed it around, moved one fan to the top front as intake, kept the back exhaust. My CPU temps dropped by like 8 degrees in the same case, no joke. Now I always think about airflow paths instead of just cramming fans in every spot. Has anyone else had a simple fan swap fix a noise or temp issue for them?

Eight degrees from flipping a single fan? I don't know, man. Sounds like you probably also had a stock cooler or some thermal paste that was two years old. Moving air around isn't some magical science, it's just air. People act like one wrong fan angle is gonna melt your PC down to slag.

And honestly that's how it goes with a lot of stuff though. People read one thing online and suddenly it's gospel, like you gotta align your case fans with the moon phase or your PC will explode. What else is overhyped like that in your setup?
