Had a motherboard screw strip mid-build and everyone told me to drill it out

I was in my basement around 2 AM building a new rig for my cousin. One of the standoff screws just would not bite into the motherboard anymore, just spinning free. Everyone on the discord said to use a Dremel or drill bit but I didn't trust myself with that near the board. Instead I wedged a tiny rubber band between the screw head and the screwdriver and it caught enough to tighten it down. Worked perfectly but I felt like a fool for 20 minutes stressing about it. Any of you had a weird fix like that?
