Dropped $35 on a magnetic screw driver set and saved my sanity on a mini ITX build
I built a mini ITX rig for my kid last weekend and it almost turned into a two hour cursing session. The case was a cheap one I grabbed for $45 off a guy on Marketplace, and the clearances inside are tight enough that you basically build it with tweezers. I used to just hold screws with my fingers and hope, which in a normal case works fine. But in a sandwich layout, one slip and a standoff screw drops behind the motherboard tray where you can't reach anything. So I finally bought one of those screwdrivers with the magnetic tip and a little telescoping magnet wand for $35 at the hardware place down the street. Best money I have spent on tools in a while, honestly. The wand pulled three screws out of the void that I would have had to fully tear the build down to get. I am not saying you need a $100 driver set, but a cheap magnetic one is worth it. What is the one cheap tool that has saved your build more than once?
