Used to spend $60 a month on coffee pods, now I make cold brew in a $12 pitcher and I'm down to $18
I started tracking my coffee spending back in March after I added up my receipts and saw I was blowing close to $60 a month on pods for my machine. That felt insane once I actually saw the number written down (I used to just swipe the card and not think about it). So I bought a $12 plastic cold brew pitcher off Amazon and a bag of coarse ground beans for about $9, and I've been making a big batch every Sunday night since. Now I get 4 or 5 days of coffee out of one batch and my monthly total is sitting around $18, which is mostly just beans and the occasional creamer. The funny part is I actually like the taste better now, the pods always came out kind of burnt to me. I did try the mason jar and cheesecloth thing for a bit but the pitcher with the built in filter is way less messy. Curious if anyone here has figured out a cheaper bean source, or do you just eat the cost for better quality?
