The day I swapped my gym membership for a $20 jump rope and actually got better results

I used to pay $45 a month for a gym downtown. I'd go maybe 3 times a week, wait for machines, drive 20 minutes each way. Then I lost my job back in March and had to cut everything. My sister told me to just get a jump rope and do stuff at home. I laughed. But I got one for $12 at Target and started doing 15 minute circuits in my driveway. Three months later I'm in better shape than I was at the gym. I think it's because I'm not spending time driving or waiting. Just go out and go hard. Has anyone else had a bigger win from some cheap thing than from their expensive setup?

The simplicity of it probably helps too. Having nothing but a rope means no excuses about which exercise to do or how long to rest between sets, you just go until you can't anymore.
