Rant: I was wrong about meal prep services saving money

For two years I told anyone who would listen that those meal kit boxes were a waste of money compared to grocery shopping. Then my cleaning schedule got chaotic and I was throwing away wilted produce every week. I finally tried EveryPlate for $5 a serving and realized my grocery store runs were costing me $12 a meal because of wasted food. Has anyone else found their actual food spending went down after switching to a box?

My friend Sarah was the biggest skeptic until her work schedule got crazy. She signed up for Dinnerly just to have something in the fridge and realized she was saving almost $60 a week because she wasn't buying random ingredients that went bad. Now she's the one telling everyone to give it a shot.

Yeah but saving $60 a week doesn't mean much when the food is just okay. I'd rather pay more and actually enjoy what I'm eating instead of forcing myself through bland meals.
