My wife laughed at my $3 'envelope system' and honestly, she had a point
About 6 months back I was using actual paper envelopes for groceries and I kept failing. My wife watched me dig through a torn envelope at Aldi, then told me straight: 'You are not bad with money, you are just bad with paper.' So I switched to one plain notebook and wrote down each trip in the car before going in. First trip I had $38 left for the week and spent $31, and that felt like a win for once. Now I know exactly what's in there without counting singles at the register. Curious if anyone else had to ditch envelopes for something simpler, or did paper actually work for you?
