My own checking account was charging me $15/month for 2 years before I noticed

I was looking through old statements for a mortgage pre-approval and saw this $15 fee every single month. Called the bank and they said it was a 'monthly maintenance fee' because my balance drops below $1,500 sometimes. I had no idea that was even a thing. I switched to a credit union the next day. Anyone else find random fees they were paying for years?

$15 a month is really just the cost of having a bank manage your money.

Have you ever tried switching to a credit union instead? I dodged those monthly fees years ago and it was a game changer.
