My old fridge gave up the ghost last Tuesday with a sad little pop.
It was full of groceries I'd just bought, so I panicked and called a repair guy who wanted $300 just to look at it. Instead, I found a scratch-and-dent model at the local appliance store for $400 and sold the old one for scrap metal for $50. Has anyone else had an appliance die right after a big grocery run?

My friend's freezer died right after a Costco trip.

Oh man that's the worst timing ever lol. My aunt had that happen with a fridge full of meat from a big sale. The smell was so bad they had to open all the windows in the middle of winter. I felt terrible for her, it's such a huge waste of money and food. Hope your friend at least got some of it saved.
