I was tracking every coffee but missing the big monthly subscriptions
I mean, I was so focused on small daily buys that I didn't see the $15 here and $30 there for streaming and apps adding up. It hit me when my bank app showed a 'recurring charges' list I never looked at. Anyone else have a category they were totally blind to?

Honestly I check my bank statement every Friday morning with my coffee. Tbh that's how I caught a $12 subscription I forgot about last month.

lol man @shane_ross that Friday morning check is smart but also painful when you see stuff you forgot about. The Patreon one hurts because it's so easy to just let it slide - I had a similar thing with a $9.99 storage service I literally never used for eight months before I caught it. It's wild how those monthly drains feel invisible compared to a $4 coffee or a $6 lunch, but they add up way faster in the end. I started making a list of every single thing I pay for monthly on a sticky note, and it was embarrassing how many I had to cancel. Sometimes you just gotta sit down and really look at that statement without flinching lol.
