Found out my monthly coffee habit could buy me a used sedan every 5 years
I was sitting in my rig waiting to get loaded at a warehouse in Gary, Indiana last Tuesday, bored out of my skull. So I started scrolling and saw this post in a financial subreddit where someone broke down their daily latte cost. They said if you spend like $6 a day on coffee, that's over $2,100 a year. I did the math on my own coffee stops at gas stations and truck stops, usually around $4.50 per cup, and I go through one or two a shift. Turns out I'm burning close to $3,000 annually just on caffeine. Has anyone else crunched the numbers on a small daily expense and been shocked at the total?

You ever just add up what you're dropping on energy drinks or smokes over a year? It hits different when you see the actual number, doesn't it? I started brewing my own coffee in a thermos before long hauls. Saves me about $40 a week, plus I can control how strong it is. You might try getting a decent travel mug and a cheap french press for your rig. Could cut that $3,000 down to like $300.
